As a parent your days are filled with endless tasks and countless to-do lists. Our children and family are our priority yet in the midst of this beautiful chaos, it’s easy to forget to pause and capture the moments that make up your family’s story. 

A family photo session isn’t on the top list of our needs but there are many reasons why we should all try and take the time to have photos taken together and here are my top five:

 

~ It’s time to connect and have fun together!

Quality time with family really is so important. A family photo session is an opportunity to disconnect from distractions and connect with one another. A family photo session with me is a fun family experience! No standing around saying ‘cheese’. You laugh, play and do the things that your family love to do during the session. Whilst you are busy enjoying your time together, I will capture the moments of love and connection.

How often are you able to get photographs of all of you together? There’s always Mum or Dad behind the lens. My children are always asking where I was in our framed photographs or saying ‘well Mummy wasn’t there’.

My family have very few photos of all four of us together. The couple that we do have are either a poorly lit selfie, or one child has decided to stick a finger up their nose.  A relaxed and expressive photo of your whole family (yourself included!) is such a rarity.

~ The perfect of the imperfect

Family life is messy, chaotic, loud and beautiful—and these, in my mind, are the moments worth capturing. A family photo session isn’t about perfection; it’s about embracing your unique family’s story and showing you as you are. From the tousled hair and mismatched outfits to the genuine expressions, laughter and love. These details add depth, meaning and character to your photographs.

 

~ Freeze time

Your children are growing every second of the day. As a Mum of two, I see it in my own children. Before you know it, another month has gone by then another year because time really does fly. Don’t let life pass you by and find yourself looking back, wondering why you didn’t take the time to have some family pictures taken.

 

~ Something to treasure and share

Every time you look at the photographs on your walls, it will make you smile. Photographs also make an amazing gift for grandparents and wider family. They are also something that your children will treasure forever and perhaps share with their children.

It’s easy to put it off for a more ‘perfect’ time but there really isn’t one!
